Our Story

Crumbs & Chronicles is a guiding company we have created as a young international couple.

For years, we fed each other’s curiosity by exchanging historical anecdotes, marvelling at delicious food, and learning to love Paris together through its architecture and atmosphere. Starting out in very different careers, these shared passions ultimately led us to discover the beauty of being food and history guides! After working with renowned touring agencies for three years, the idea to create our own life-sized guiding company came very naturally to us.

Together, we have designed several tours that we believe help first-time visitors and Parisians-in-the-making alike to get a better feel for the City of Light through nicely-paced walks and memorable sights, bites, and chats. And if you are looking for an even more personable experience, we have more tricks up our sleeves and will happily curate a bespoke tour for you. Our goal is always to help our guests live their own Parisian dream!

Matthew_

Matthew is an Englishman who has been living in France since the age of six. A data scientist turned cook, he realised the only thing that brings him more joy than cooking for others is helping other people's cuisine and creations shine. His constant exploration of culinary history and techniques, coupled with many an enriching conversation with local shopkeepers and chefs, helps him to be an ever more engaging and informative guide. With more than 500 tours under his belt, Matthew has earned a bit of a reputation as a lively chatterbox with a spring in his step and a detailed map of Parisian food spots for every occasion!

Laura_

Laura is a life-long Parisienne who speaks four languages. You know she loves learning new things because, after getting a first diploma in International Relations, she went back to university to study Art History. As a guide, her aim is to both unearth rarely told gems and turn her academic knowledge into living, breathing stories. She is always looking up in the air, ready to point out all the most idyllic terraces and balconies you will come across. But rest assured! Laura’s tours are packed with historical anecdotes, art facts, and recommendations for shops, restaurants and museums.
